About the author
Jean-Baptiste Phou is writer and multidisciplinary artist born in Paris to Chinese-Cambodian parents. He is the author of the books Coming Out of My Skin (Seagull, 2023), 80 mots du Cambodge (L’Asiathèque, 2024), the play Cambodia, Here I Am! and the director of the short film My Mother’s Tongue (Public’s Choice award for best documentary of the 29th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema).
About the moderator
Rohit K Dasgupta is Associate Professor of Gender and Sexuality at the London School of Economics. He is coauthor of the forthcoming books Desi Queers: LGBTQ+ South Asians and Cultural Belonging in Britain (Hurst, 2025) and India’s Imperial Formations (Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 2024). He is also a Labour & Cooperative Party Councillor in the London Borough of Newham.
